Asian American Studies Program Film Sa-I-Gu: From Korean Women's Perspectives. A film that examines the Los Angeles Riots from the viewpoint of Korean American women shopkeepers. (Part of a series of events commemorating the ten-year anniversary of the L.A. Civil Unrest.)

Asian American Studies Program Film Another America. A film that that examines the Black/ Korean conflict in the inner cities.

Asian American Studies Program Council Meeting, Building Bridges: An Examination of Race Relations in the 21st Century. A panel discussion on the history and current state of race relations among African Americans, Latina/os and Asian Americans. For more information, contact the AASP at 244-9530.

Asian American Studies Program Lecture, Black Revolt: Asian American Newspapers and the L.A. Riots, by Michael Thornton, University of Wisconsin, Madison. This talk will address how newspapers covered race relations and the L.A. riots.

Philippine Student Association Film Fakin' Da Funk. A film that examines the story of a young Chinese man adopted into an African American family in Atlanta.

Asian American Studies Program Workshop, Mourning Los Angeles, by Min Song, AASP post-doctoral fellow. This workshop will examine the cultural meaning of the loss portrayed in the documentary Sa-I-Gu.

Asian American Studies Program Lecture, Ethnic Peace in the American City: Building Community in Los Angeles Ten Years After the Unrest, by Edward Chang, University of California, Riverside. This lecture will address the economic, historical, and social conditions that led up to the L.A. unrest and the current state of affairs.

Smash Hits and Pop Flies: An Evening of Performance with Dan Kwong. Performing a medley of short works from his various solo shows, master storyteller Dan Kwong investigates identity politics with an open heart, a wacky sense of humor, and keen insight. Asian American Studies Program Film Out in Silence. A film that examines HIV/AIDS and the Asian Pacific American community.

Monday, April 1: 7pm, Studio Theatre, Krannert
The Department of Theatre's staged reading of Anna Deavere Smith's drama Twilight. Twilight uses verbatim the words of people who experienced the Los Angeles riots to expose and explore the devastating human impact of that event.

Intercollegiate Taiwanese American Students Association Conference Flash Forward: Taiwan Beyond Boundaries.
